Welcome to my website which features a collection of my art. I work with acrylics on canvas, this enables me to create impact in my paintings which feature bold swathes of rich colour and take their influence from the natural world, culture and the landscape.
The majority of my paintings are impressions of actual locations, creatures or people, but the common denominator is always colour and shape. When an idea forms in my mind, I often create a sketch using coloured pencils, before returning to my garden studio to start work on the canvas.
I paint on Winsor and Newton canvasses which are 20mm deep. I continue the painting round the edges of the canvas so as to create a three dimensional item for display.
